Kinesiotape
Kinesiology taping (often called KT taping) uses a thin, elastic therapeutic tape applied to the skin in specific patterns to influence the underlying muscles, fascia, and lymphatic system. Unlike rigid athletic tape that immobilizes a joint, kinesiotape moves with your body — providing support while still allowing a full range of motion.
Depending on how it's applied, kinesiotape can help lift the skin to reduce swelling and bruising, provide proprioceptive feedback to inhibit or facilitate muscle activation, support joints without restricting movement, and extend the benefits of your in-office treatment between visits. It's commonly used in sports medicine and rehabilitation, and it's just as valuable for everyday patients managing pain and recovery.
At Empower Chiropractic and Wellness, we use kinesiology taping as part of a broader treatment plan to help you feel supported and move confidently outside of the office. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing a flare-up, training for an event, or navigating the physical demands of pregnancy or new parenthood, taping can be a practical, comfortable tool in your recovery toolkit.
